Sailing "Balls Out" deedsphotos
61Sailing
Sailing is fun. Sailing can be expensive or inexpensive, relaxing, exciting or terrifying.
Note: "Balls out" refers to ball governor valves on steam engines. As the pressure increases, the ball governor spins faster and centrifugal force causes the balls on the valve to extend outward. On Mississippi River steamboats the engine room man would inform the captain "balls out" when the steam engine had reached its maximum capacity. Sailors use the term to mean "as fast as possible."Photo linked below.
Note #2: The picture of Flying Circus is not a deedsphoto, I'm not sure who the photographer of this exciting photo was. Same for the picture of Punk Dolphin taken in the Detroit NOOD 2008.

but fishing is one of the most dangerous. :hmm:
I have a friend who sails a lot. It does seem relaxing. beautiful pix.
*cedes the point*
ya, I found that out from reading "the perfect storm" which was a much better book than it was a movie and the movie was tops. every bit of data in it, and there was a lot, was sourced. an amazing read.
I have a thing about big waves. If it has a big wave in it, I've seen it. I lived for the beginning of Hawaii 5-0.
