Natalie Dessay The Most Beautiful Operatic Soprano

63

By Ralph Deeds

Natalie Dessay

Natalie Dessay's incomparable beauty matches her superb, clear as a bell, coloratura soprano voice, contrasting with the stereotypical "fat lady" who, legend has it, marks the end of many operas. Dessay was born in Lyon, France, in 1965. Multi-talented, she set out to be a ballet dancer, then an actress and finally settled into her career as a coloratura soprano. She has sung in the major world opera houses. She can be seen beginning July 3, 2009 performing Violetta in Verdi's "La Traviata" in the Santa Fe Opera House.

Her voice is amazing and she is beautiful. Definitely not the stereotypical "fat lady" opera singer. The singing is great I just wish that I could understand it.

So rarely do we hear such a pure voice, her rendition of La Traviata is one of the best I have ever heard.

Am bookmarking to return and listen again, Thanks for bringing her to the hubs.
