Vladimir, I love ya baby, but I have a real hard time with labelling people in groups. Sounds too much like a Liberal thing to me, man!

I am neither Liberal nor COnservative because we simply don't look at the world that way in Spain. We are happy, my friend, and we love our government for the most part, love our great health care system and love the fact that we can just be free enough to live our lives without someone telling us how we should think or why someone else different than us is evil, full of hate for us, and so on.

Man, America had better wake up because this is the same thing that precedes a government take-over and drastic change of government. And Vlad, I know my history and yours and a whole lot more quite well. We don't live in "Little USSR" here in Spain, so please get over it and stop confusing the issue. WE ARE NOT THE OLD USSR!

Ralph, some say that president had half year to decide about the dog for his children. It is Ok with me. But why hurry and rush to pass the health bill? The same was with package. He said he is for people but he fed pockets of rich and "failures" with our "sweat". He never asked us what to do. Our country is we people.

I am not republican neither democrat and even not libertalien. It is extremely dangerous to have one party rule and rush decided about what they do not know anything about. They are going cut seniors, but fonding abortion. And it is many more. I am working in health care and many do not know what is going on.

Ivan, because you are happy I am very happy for you too. I escaped from Europe almost died, and I am happy too. Did you read my hubs recently?

I will tell you nobody is telling me how to think what to do or believe. But socialists will, sooner or later. It is not visible yet. This is not that Russian were only bad. All will fallow suite, because it is evil.

Vladimir has hit the nail on the head - he always does when talking about a socialist/communist state. Beck has just as much right to be stupid as anyone else. If you don't like him don't watch him. I've never put any faith in the media anyway. They do have one use though, and that is if you step back and look at their overall agenda it's possible to see what they 'want' people to think rather than just giving the facts and letting people come to their own conclusions. Yeah, yeah, now I'm a conspiracy theorist. Oh well, I guess you can't please everyone.

Not to be rude, and hope you do not get mad at me, so I will try to say this in the most polite way I can., Your involvement with the unions makes me question your stance behind this. The unions has been getting a reputation lately about the bullying and the appearance of paybacks from Obama. So for you to take this stance appears right in line for your background.

I have not listen to Glenn Beck, but since this shows the liberals do not like him, he must be a threat and talking up a good storm. I did get to listen to him last week, and he appeared to make sense on several of his points.

Thanks for showing us that he is threat, and that we may need to start listening and supporting Glen Beck more. Your article may back fire, just a the liberal attacks on Sarah Palin has actually made her stronger and more of a threat. You know the saying, liberals try to destroy everything that is a threat to them. And the attacks just make them stronger.

Sorry, that you guys cannot understand things the way we do. We want less government control in our lives. Big government, especially when it falls into the wrong hands of control is terrible. So we cannot let government control everything. We need balance.

Right now both parties are running amck and are doing detrimental things to our control. We need to straighten these up and get control back to the people. Also, the public needs to straighten up. A honest day's work for a honest day's pay, and vice versa. Quit trying to get things for free. Nothing's free, we have to work for it. And care for those who honestly cannot do the day's work. We have too many people who wants everything for free.

Dear Ralph, Glen Beck does rant I'll admit but watching liberals and the hipocrasy they stand for is almost unbearable. Lets visit a few issues that can be maddening that liberals work their waffling majic on.

Death- won't kill a convicted murderer, will kill a baby.

Health care- they want everybody to have it but nobody to pay for it. We won't even discuss illigals abusing our emergency rooms and running hospitals out of buisness.

Global warming- you want to punish America for being successful, won't bring the same arguement to Russia or China.

Gay Rights- want to grant gays the right to Marry because they have feelings but don't give a dam about the majority opinion or their feelings.

Thats a good sample of the lets give it all away attitude the liberals prefer. Open the borders and give all the illegals everything so they will feel good about themselves. Support the Islama-Nazis and let them destroy Israel, aquire neuclear weapons so they can shoot them at us. Here you want equal rights for minorities and women but when it involves Islam you don't notice the treatment of their women.

C'mon Ralph you can do better than this, if you tried to sell this bag of goods you'd be laughed out of town. You have to see how rediculous these positions are and how it would infuriate even the most even tempered conservative.Peace.

Ralph, Sorry about the union thing. That writing on negotiation with the unions would be very interesting. With that background I am surprised you are a democrat, because the effects the unions have in the democratic party.

writing on union would be very very educational to us all, but watch out, you may be put on their hit list, but then again you may know best about these things and what they can do. Let us know about these things. Write hubs on them and then put it in a book.

By the way, I have to laugh when ever I listen to Rush and he starts on a rant. I think he does it mostly because he knows it drives liberals crazy. He just yanks their chains.

Wow. There's this whole other world of liberal vs. conservative...or whatever...on individual hubs. I didn't know...until I followed sneako over here from pgrundy's hub. I'm wondering if he puts the same sort of message on the hubs of all liberals, or addresses all liberals in such a manner because he cannot differentiate between them as people? Just a question. And also, do you think your highly partisan identity politic rants are any substitute for real thought? Do they warrant address or indulgence? Self analysis and analysis of your own thoughts before writing is often a good thing--if, as you stated to me, you'd like to be taken seriously as a writer and by the 'other side.' And obviously, you must...or you wouldn't be all over these well-known liberal hubber's articles.

Ralph--glad to see advertisers are hitting Fox where it counts. Beck is an idiot, that's obvious... My favorite was "the cars for clunkers is an evil conspiracy to take over your computer" debacle. Lita there is a horrible undertow in our country that includes morality, military, social, financial and national issues. This undertow smells alot like socialism. Liberals in general seem to blindly defend a position without regaurd for any side but theirs. If you defend a position that is offensive you have to know what you're up against. If liberals take a position against the Bible and its teachings in favor of inclusiveness they will be considered kooks by the right and verbally assaulted. If liberals take a socialistic stand on an issue the same will happen. You both know this so be honest about it.

I visited these Hubs because they sounded interesting and I like social debate. I visit Hope's Hubs because they're bizzare. The gay writters Hubs because that stuff is freaky wierd. I do this because I enjoy it. Its entertaining and most of the time liberal Hubs are so far out there that I think your kidding. I honestly don't see how you got from point 'A' to point 'B'. If you feel so offended by a different opinion screen the comments to your Hubs.

Don't have cable, so I never heard of Glen Beck.

As for the "Racist" label for Obama, I don't think we know enough about him to understand what he stands for and against.

As for some of the comments on this hub, liberals and conservatives are a problem in and of themselves. Neither of them is good for the country. They can't find and work on a common ground and that makes them a problem.

Differences of opinions and attitudes is OK, until you need to have the SS America going in the same direction. To do that, you need everyone to agree on the same direction.

Anything less is an ineffectual Congress and President. Debate and debate but when the debate stops, everyone has to agree.

It is like a jury trial, once the verdict is in, that is the end of it.

The current health care debate is as useless as was the economic bailout debates.

The biggest issue in the US should be the ever increasing size of the government. This is magnitudes of debt to the people, than is the purported Social Security and Medicare debt.

Government workers retiring early and being replaced by a young worker increases instead of decreases the tax burden on the taxpayer.

Why can the government, Federal, State and Local afford to bestow all the benefits and retirement on their workers, when most private companies cannot afford it. Many private non union workers can't get or afford health insurance. They also have to rely on Social Security for their retirement.

Even in the bad times of the last few years, the Federal Government has increased in size, instead of downsizing.

As for health care, private health insurance companies are not run well and they practice medicine without a license by providing what is and is not covered for medical treatment by their insured. This will not be changed any if the Government runs the health insurance coverage.

Here in Spain, Conservatives, as you would call them, always look backwards to some phantasma of a Golden Age, when women knew their place (in the bed and in the kitchen, my dear!) and the people who didn't like it were put into prison.

The Golden Age they want back are the days of Franco and the Junta, or the age of the Glorious Most Catholic Magesties, you know, when Spain lead the world in the number of slaves owned, the number of converts or death, etc. The time when people were in fact slaves working on feudal estates of the elite, whom God out there wo make sure we peons were well looked after. Yeah, right!

What do Conservatives in America look back to? Maybe we should follow the reasoning of one politicians who was interviewed for Spanish TV. He wants to go back to the original Constitution. Yes, that's what he said. The ORIGINAL Constitution.

Well, didn't you do away with slavery, didn't women's rights, for example, to vote, happen some 120 years after the Constitution was first written? How many other changes would you have to do away with to bring back your Conservative's dream of a Golden Age?

Maybe you could go back to fighting with rifled muskets, too, since that was such a glorious time. Field artillery pulled by horses, if you like. Sweat shops and child labor in the mines. You know, the age when all people were free to starve freely.

I have a perhaps better idea...

Why not conserve that which is important, like forests, lands and old buildings, traditions liie manners and civility, and change for the better that which needs improvement, such as health care and the standard of living of your entire nation? Or is America so cock-sure of it's ascendency and perfection that it, perhaps, needs no improvements? that is what the arrogant Conservative Spanish used to think, too. You know, the lords of the manors?

I am not asking this of you, Ralph, because I know more or less where you stand, but to those who back these talking airheads who somehow think America was socially better off years ago than it is now. Yes, I did recently catch some of Beck on YouTube and in other places. Seems in England they think he's a comic, doing parody. People there are SHOCKED to find out that some of you Americans actually get your "news" and views from this guy!

I'm so sick of the hatred and the constant division over nonsense in this country. The right is only bringing back the culture wars because they have nothing else. They have no ideas, no solutions. Their philosophy, such as it is, is based on 19th century ideas of entitlement and class division. And the far right is getting scarier and more psychotic by the minute--or at least feeling more comfortable about acting that way openly and taking pride in it. It's sickening. My first thought is that everybody in here is arguing about the wrong things.

The whole Republican/Democrat thing is a silly argument at best. Both parties have mud on their faces in the best of times and are buried in it in the worst of times.

To support any one party no matter what their bureaucrats are selling is foolishness.

Personally I support the guy that will stay as far out of my personal life as possible. This, unfortunately, doesn't leave me with many options. Democrats with their boots on my neck when it comes to my business/financial life and Republicans with their boots on my neck when it comes to my personal life.

We have a choice between two fascist parties, the military-industrial fascists (Repubs) and the corporatists (Dems).

I'm not sure that Obama is a racist. Beck may be wrong on that front. The answer remains to be seen.

I don't much care for Obama for the fact that he is without a doubt a Marxist. The emerging economic model that he is pushing is the exact definition of fascist corporatism. Before you argue that it's not do a little research as to what that means.

I disagree with the liberal philosophy because I believe that a Marxist economic model does not elevate the disadvantaged but instead drags the more successful down.

I believe that everybody should be entitled to a shot at the American dream. Eliminating that opportunity for everybody is a poor solution to equality for all Americans.

I completely agree with you as far as the influence of corporations. McCain/Feingold just made this worse too.

The problem that I see currently is the push for a marriage between the state, corporations and unions. That is a Marxist economic model at it's core (google fascist corporatism if you're not sure). That is not a free market solution to the problem. I would encourage everybody to take an objective approach to exploring the subject.

Living in a free society is not easy. It takes a lot of personal drive and self education. I believe that the problems we have lie in our substandard educational system. Both sides are attempting to force feed ideology to students when they should be teaching students how to function properly in an open, free-market society.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not defending conservatives at all. The intrusion of conservative social policies into our personal lives is just as wrong.

As for Glenn Beck making an argument that Obama is a racist, maybe he is and maybe he isn't. I'm willing to listen objectively to his argument without calling for his head. I'll do the same for liberals calling somebody else a racist. I don't believe that conservatives have the market cornered on racism.

Some of President Obama's associations do throw up red flags for me. Jeremiah Wright would be a prime example. Nothing that man says is at all constructive. He does nothing but damage American race relations.

I'll make my mind up based on Mr. Obama's actions and not his words. I don't think the results are in yet. Like I keep hearing, he's only been the president for 6 months.

I would disagree that "Obama has the most liberal voting record as a senator" only because the people who make such information are usually either very Conservative or want to make it appear that he is. So the criteria they use are self-defined 'Liberalism according to and defined by Conservatives'. Just as Liberals really can't judge fairly what is a Conservative agenda, neither can Conservatives define what is a Liberal agenda. From what I've been reading, a lot of programs Moderates really like are defined by many Conservatives as "Liberal". I'm sure the same in reverse holds true.

I do believe that Obama was also roundly criticized by Republicans as having NO record in the Senate because he served such as short time. But Bernie Sanders, Independent/Socialist has a more liberal record.

That said, many moderates voted for Obama, and that's simply a fact. No presidential candidate from either of the 2 major parties can win without: (a) Moderates and (b) Seniors, or (c) a strong 3rd party candidate who siphons votes fromone or the other major party candidate. (That's how Lincoln won in 1860.) Both parties recognize this and try to separate a candidate or elected official from both of these voting blocks.

So does the support Obama received from Moderates make him a Moderate? That's for all of you to figure out, but it is apparent that his favorability ratings are shifting. Mostly this has to do with the Healthcare debate, and, in my opinion, his lack of leadership to get his ducks in a row. It really seems to have very little to do with pushing an over-all Liberal agenda, whatever that would mean to Americans of all political stripes.

Personally I like Obama better than I liked Bush II, but I liked Bush I well enough because he acted his conscience and held other nations in high regard. He communicated much better with people than his son ever did. He was more popular here in Spain than his son, mostly because of Bush II's involvement in Iraq. Afghanistan we agree with, and we have soldiers over there, but Iraq - all the wrong reasons, most of which now plague Obama.

Ivan, if what you are saying is true then am I not able to distinguish what a Conservative or Liberal agenda is?

My personal politics don't fall completely into either category.

On social issues I fall somewhere in between Libertarian and Liberal.

On fiscal issues I fall somewhere in between Conservative and Libertarian.

Foreign policy mostly Libertarian. The "no foreign entanglements" policy is the best policy. I don't feel that we should have gone into Iraq the second time although I believe that the first was the right thing to do.

As far as government intrusion into a person's life I'm 100% Libertarian.

I can't say as I really like either Bush or Obama.

I don't dislike Ralph myself. I respect a person that is willing to give an opinion and then defend it. I don't have to agree with all of his viewpoints.

I do enjoy a lively debate though.

Because he is asking questions that MSNBC won't because GE will be rewarded with Government contracts, I do not like corruption, I know it is a mainstay of the Democrat party but at some point you have to denounce it! I didn't like what Bush did and was vocal about that and I will be vocal about the course your messiah is taking this Country! I know you don't want to admit he is a socialist but in your heart you know he is, and if you are half the American Glenn Beck is you will say something about it instead of denying the things occurring in front of your eyes!

As far as him being pathetic, I would say polling and using focus groups to discern what words to use with the American people to get them behind your health care plan is rather pathetic and shows the depths to which this incompetent will sink! Are the opponents doing this also? I bet they are and all the left wing blogs are upset that they figured out the tactic, gotta fight fire with fire!

He wants to control what private companies pay CEO's and their employee's and that isn't socialism? I agree with you Ralph. I don't believe that the driving force behind Obama's economic policies are necessarily socialist. Marxist is a better fit.

Their is a finer line between Socialism and Marxism than Socialism and Capitalism so, I can understand where the confusion comes from.

Maybe Marxist is a bad word. Lets call it "Early Italian" if that makes everybody feel better. But it is what it is.

All of these Government programs are in debt how is that efficiency? You can include the FBI,DEA,ATF but none of these agencies turn a profit but instead cost the US Taxpayer, just because the FBI can solve a kidnapping doesn't make them cost efficient!

Glenn Beck may well be a nut case. He may well have some loose screws somewhere up there. However, this week on his show on FOX, he is showing us some serious issues and believe it or not, just blindly listening to people does not make them right. BUT- what if I actually put Beck's scare-tactics based message to the test, and what if, I actually discovered that the things he has been claiming on his program this week, were in fact TRUE?!? THEN what? Well folks, I did just that, and his story (so far) checks out 100%. Am I a fan? Never watched his show until last Friday night, and the guy is sarcastic, (kinda like me) and he can be downright rude in some ways. And darn, when he wants to make a point he don't beat around the bush like some,he will come right out and say what is on his mind WITH A PASSION. But I DID double check the things he talks about: 1) Congress did NOT write the Health Care Bill, a radical organization called "The Apollo Alliance" did. WHo the heck are they? And why are they writing OUR AMERICAN LEGISLATION AND WHAT DOES THAT LEGISLATION HAVE IN STORE FOR YOU AND ME? 2) President Obama has "special advisers" who have currently, or have had in the past, DIRECT TIES to individuals and organizations that are not only radical, but literally COMMUNIST in their philosophical leanings, Jim Jones. Rom Emmanuel. VAN JONES, an ADMITTED communist. (That is on video people- google it.) These people and MANY more are in the White House right now telling our President what to do. 3) It has been standard policy that the FBI have operatives researching, and doing background checks on every person a US President wants in his staff or advisory cabinets. If those background checks failed, those individuals do not get accepted into our White House, seeing as it is the most sensitive office in the United States. There HAVE to be VERY strict precautions taken, or else a Nazi or Communist or Terrorist minded individual could have significant influence and that is UNACCEPTABLE. Yet President Obama, somehow, has barred the FBI from doing their job, as to allow these aforementioned individuals into his service. Communist. Socialist. White House. For the first time in my life, I am truly scared. If you are objective, and don't just BLAST something because you do not like it, but RESEARCH it fully then you will find the truth. AND this is what it is all about, the TRUTH. If you are not willing to set aside your differences and be open minded, then you are just a "blind follower" of what you have been trained, and conditioned, to believe. Me, I want to know the TRUTH, I do NOT care what that is, as long as I know what it is so that I can act accordingly. I am a seeker- and a real seeker of truth does not pick one side or the other, but simply picks the best route, which may be picking one Democrat here, and one Republican there. THAT person is at least honest and looking for the best path available. What path are you on?

My challenge to YOU, is this: Why don't you PROVE your disapproval of Glenn Beck to be JUSTIFIED, by watching the show yourself, and WRITE DOWN his MAIN points, and disprove them then bring that evidence here and show us. Can you do that? Or- are you just going to blow this challenge off, because you are just right and do not have to prove yourself to anyone? Because if that will be the response, stop wasting our time with your UNSUBSTANTIATED OPINIONS. now is the time to not be pat of a party or group but just be americans those of us who are older have maybe a different view than some of the younger americans i have been a republican all my life an always voted the ticket but no more , glenn beck for all the bad things you might say is niether, and look back over the years he did not always agree with pres bush and was out spoken against him also. have an open mind and just watch his show with an open mind, all the questions on his show this week are just that but he does make you wonder about all the czars that obama has appointed and not one thing that he has said all week has been disputed by the administratin or the president, like the green czar and his background and beliefs, if you really want to know about healthcare in these others countries go online and read the newspapers in england and cananda you will learn a lot that is what i did i did not just take glenn becks word for it. i went to a tea party myself and i saw no organized groups from the right there i saw just regular moms and dads and grandparents. ty

Those videos I spoke of are right there on the internet, you can be a pug and ignore it saying "Your post was unintelligible and certainly didn't prove anything about Glenn Beck's rants." But if you are not willing to stand up, LIKE A MAN, and make an actual case for your views, then your opinions are just "unintelligible and don't prove anything."

You have the right to argue your point, that is free speech. But you are not arguing, you are just babbling your opinion without telling anyone why or how. Your opinion is great if you can stand up and argue your points, but if you just make some UNSUBSTANTIATED blunder against a person or idea, then it is just a SMALL opinion. I'm actually at work when Beck is on the air so unfortunately I don't have the opportunity to make a judgement one way or the other.

I do know though that Beck doesn't claim to be a journalist but rather a commentator.

Ralph hasn't made any effort to explain why Beck is wrong.

I personally believe that conservatives don't have the market cornered on racism. I'll listen to liberals make accusations of racism and base my own opinion on the facts presented. The key point is I need some sort of intelligent factual foundation before I could agree. Ideology doesn't serve as a good foundation for any argument. That's why I asked Ralph if he is ranting or attempting to make an argument.

Speaking of that, I've heard a lot of liberals claim that the people opposing the Democrat version of health care reform are all racists. Take Genine Garafalo for example, Is she a pathetic loser for making unfounded claims of racism?

Claiming a "Southern Strategy" seems a bit conspiritorial to me. Also, Republicans, by no means have the market cornered on racism. Both parties do. Republicans can claim home to more white racists to be sure but, Democrats can claim home to a few as well as a few black and brown racists. Racism and hate is racism and hate no matter what ideology or color a person is.

The obvious point of this interview is to paint opponents as racist rube's. Sorry it's such a long clip, I didn't spend very much time looking.

The problem is not just Beck. The wider picture would be entire news organizations of both political stripes choosing sides in politics then, hurling bombs at each other. Is there such thing as an unbiased news organization anymore?

If you weren't trying to make a convincing argument and it's just your opinion then more power to you. I may at some point watch his show to make up my own mind.

Just as a disclaimer... I don't believe that Obama is a racist either. I'm just disconcerted with some of his relationships. Namely Rev. Wright as far as race issues go.

It would actually be rather nice to be able to have a debate in this country without melanin levels entering into it.

I live in the South (Texas to be precise) and I actually don't meet many racists. Maybe Texas is too South. I don't know. I think that may be a wrongful stereotype to apply to all down here.

My point is the fact that Beck called Obama a racist is no reason for people to start calling for his head. If that's the case then advertisers should stop advertising on cable news networks altogether, especially left leaning ones.

Liberals love to use the word racist to chill debate no matter what the issue. They have so diluted the term that you could say they have done damage to the people that are actually fighting a real fight against it.

What about that idiot that was claiming Socialism is the new "N" word? Nobody is calling for the destruction of his livelihood, he's just dismissed as a fool.

You seem to think that racism is a purely Republican phenomenon. I would say that Republicans have marginalized and fight against the racists that claim affiliation within their party. Democrats have made racists and those who would use the race debate for their own personal gain main stream.

Like I said a while back, both parties have mud on their faces in the best of times and are buried in it at the worst of times. The partisan players on both sides would be better served by taking the trash out in their own parties rather than hurling bombs at the other.

I think you've more than made my point for me Ralph.

I'll go ahead and expand on the trail that I've led you down.

The extreme partisans on BOTH sides of the political spectrum are so blinded by hatred of the other that they are willing to co-opt any cause to ensure the power of their chosen political party.

You do more damage to the causes you claim to support by ignoring any indescretion by those on your political side of the fence while blowing up the indescretions of those on the opposite side.

At first glance by those that don't follow the issues or politics as closely as you or I, you seem to care about the issue. After digging into your motivations it's obvious that your intent is not to stop somebody from making unfounded claims of racism. It's to silence opposition to your political party.

The fringe on both sides are leading the public discourse on almost all the issues in the main stream media and in government. That is why there is such a disconnect in America between the majority of the population and the political process.

The vast majority of Republicans aren't racists just like the vast majority of Democrats aren't Communists. The debate needs to move away from the fringes and blind partisanship, and back to the center and reason if we're going to make any progress at all in this country.

I have been trying to figure out how to say this for a long time and I may have it. I am trying to say this is a fair and unhurtful manner, but I have to.

I am disappointed in you producing a hub like this. You are a better that to do this. Shame on you.

Why don't you do something constructive and prove, as Derrik brings up, that Beck wrong. When you do this, I will feel better about all this. As Derrick brought up, Beck has asked a lot of questions, and provided some good points and facts. Why isn't anyone answering this or refuting his points? Saying that he is a cry baby, and no listens to him is not good enough. People are listening to him. "We the people" are not very happy right now and want answers, and are searching every where. And "We the people" are speaking up and demanding answers and changes.

This happens over and over. Libs only way to defend is to attack the person, and not the issues. And many times this back fires and makes the people stronger. They have been attacking Rush for over a decade, and he gets stronger. Your guys think Beck is on the rope, but I think he may be getting stronger. They chases Palin out of office, got their wishes, but Palin may be stronger than ever.

Please defend the facts Ralph and not attack the person. I know you are better than this. Yes, he is a recovering alcoholic and has had problems in his life. He sho is without sin, let him cast the first stone.

I have great respect for some of the things I have seen up put up here. Put this hub is not one of them.

Do some hubs on all these Czars that are getting put in place and their life histories. Also, the purposes of the Czars, the legality of them, if these Czars controlling everything does not lead to too much power in the president area, and stripping power from the legislative and judicial departments. These areas would be a good start. I know you are great at doing these kind of things.

I need to clarify something. First of all, Glenn Beck did not start "crying racist". From what I have heard, he made that comment ONE DAMN TIME. Right or wrong, liberals seem to always hear ONE thing their hated opposition says and they go HOG WILD about it. Is calling Obama a racist a big deal? Definitely. But for crying out loud stop EXAGGERATING by making it seem as though the man makes that claim after he wakes up and when he goes to bed every night. The other thing that really irks me is when people start literally discrediting someone based on one claim that they have made or one wrong thing they said or did.

My questions: DID the "Apollo Alliance" write the current bill for the Health Care Reform? HAS Van Jones been affiliated with COMMUNISTS an SOCIALISTS, and has Van Jones ADMITTED on VIDEO that he is COMMUNIST?? IS Jim Jones the New York Chairman for the Weather Underground? And last, why are these people, who have not only been proven to affiliate themselves in these ways but have literally ADMITTED to, why are they SPECIAL ADVISERS to the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES?!? You cannot just wish these facts away because you do not like their ramifications. (I love that word- "ramifications". Makes me sound educated.)

You may want to scroll back. I didn't attack Obama at all. I actually said that I don't believe that he is a racist. I did say that there are some red flags that have been thrown up for me. His association with Wright and although I didn't mention before, his handling of the Gates controversy would be red flags.

As far as making ad hominem comments about you... I simply pointed out that you are politically blinded to the fact that quite a bit of the unfounded claims of racism come from the liberal side of the political spectrum. You don't seem to have a problem with that. That to me says that you don't care about what he said but rather his political affiliation.

That's a pretty wild eyed caricature of Evangelical Christians and the Republican Party. But discussing that is several Hubs in itself. A similarity of comparisons would be calling all Democrats violent supporters of late term abortions, militant Communists and anti-semites. You shouldn't label the majority of either party by the extremes on the fringes.

It is a debatable subject as to whether President Obama has racist tendencies albiet, the evidence to that effect is flimsy at best. The point I'm trying to make is the rabid partisanship is doing more damage to race relations in this country than anything else. If you can't make the connection in relation to Garofalo's comments then maybe you should spend a little more time looking inward and a little less looking outward.

The fact that liberals have jumped on Beck like starving dogs on raw meat because of this comment while ignoring the "pathetic losers" on their own side is evidence of their hypocrisy. What's good for the goose is not good for the gander? Liberals have long labeled the opposition as 'racist' no matter the evidence. You're doing it yourself.

The blind partisanship on both sides is tearing this country apart at the seams.

You did the first ad hominem by attacking Glenn Beck. I pointed out this is not a very nice thing, and you should defend you reasons of doing this. You the attacked me. I was very complementary of how good a lot of your hubs were, but this one did not stand with reason, and asked you to defend. You then are constantly attacking without defending.

Glenn Beck has pointed out several points, that no one is answering and a lot of are wondering about. Youtube his show for the last week, or do I need to spoon feed and attach them to this hub I will, but I know from all that you attached to other hubs, you are very capable of finding these yourself.

What do I like. I told you, he brought up info and a lot of things this last week on his shows, and asked you to defend them. I like answers. I want to find the truth. I want freedom and what is best for America. I do not like a President with too much power. And don't bring up Bush, because he may be just as bad. We want answers and the President and other libs/democrats are only calling names here, like you did with Beck and not answering them. I take, if these things cannot be answered, and I cannot find answers myself, so does silence mean it is true?

When see his Czars, his administration and cabinets have been affiliated with communist groups and terrorist groups, I start to wonder about Obama. I want answers, and the democrats/libs are not providing any. I ask you to help, and get called a wacko. This really helps. And just strengthen everything I find from other side.

Just remember about 505 of the population does not agree with you, so that makes them all wackos.

People are coming out of the woodworks to attend those town hall meetings, to add their disapproval in order to have their voice heard. Only a small percentage of them are coming as a result of the Beck show, and an even smaller percentage of those are nut-jobs holding those ridiculous signs. Just because a few people are willing to act irresponsibly does not prove Beck to be a loser, if that were true, I would IMMEDIATELY jump on the BLACK PANTHERS, because they are TOTALLY for Obama, he must be a loser. Right? Or perhaps are those radical representatives of certain individuals just that, radical representatives? And there you go AGAIN, claiming Beck is uttering the claim "Obama is a racist" everywhere he goes. Stop being a liar. Comment on the ONE time he said that, over and over if you must.

Comparing Obama to Hitler is ignorant. Depending on the person using the phrase, calling his economic policies fascist in nature is not. Wikipedia has a small section on the definition of fascist corporatism if you don't understand the meaning.

I don't listen to AM radio so I can't give an educated opinion of Beck or Limbaugh. Ann Coulter on the other hand I find repulsive and have difficulty watching her at all. She's way too venomous and partisan for me. Hannity I agree with sometimes. His opposition to a large invasive government is similar to my own. His defending such Republican programs as the Patriot Act is one of the many reasons I can't call myself conservative. His overly mild criticism of the corporate bailouts under Bush were a bit off-putting.

On the other hand Olberman is nothing more than a liberal version of Hannity. I'd say more extreme though (I imagine that that is just because of my aversion to Liberal solutions to America's problems). He is going to spin the news to cater to a massively liberal audience. Bill Maher is so repulsive that I can't watch him for more than 30 seconds without getting physically sick.

And as for my "red flags" being ridiculous, lets turn the tables on it for a bit.

Lets suppose that Bush had attended a church for many years that was lead by a white pastor that openly preached about the evils of African-Americans. I don't believe that he would have even been nominated as the Republican candidate for president. Republicans would have run from him like he was a leper.

Lets further suppose that Bush publicly stated that Professor Gates acted stupidly in his confrontation with the police without any understanding of the details of the situation. The left would be screaming for his head on a platter.

That's the hypocrisy that I've been talking about. To have no qualms about the left using the term 'racist' as a political bludgeon then to attempt to destroy Beck and his listeners for doing the same is hypocritical. I would rather both sides only use the term when somebody actually is racist instead of just throwing it up against a wall to see if it sticks. Once again Ralph, you are right on! Beck calling Obama a racist is absurd! His mother was white - his grandparents were white and he had loving relationships with them. I think Beck is projecting as well as lying! But as you mentioned, he is not that bright. However,Republicans have been brilliant enlisting the lowest denominator of uneducated southern whites into the fold by fear mongering and focusing on their favorite fringe issues designed to divert them from what causes their real pain - poor health care, low wages, lack of education and opportunity! Inflation is a regressive indirect income tax. If the government programs we have now are breaking the bank, don't you think it would be better to fix that first before adding more?

THIS is why people are going to the town hall meetings: They are AGAINST THE CURRENT BILL FOR HEALTH CARE REFORM. It has NOTHING to do with LOBBYISTS, it has NOTHING to do with the GOP. If you actually thing these meetings ALL ACROSS THE FREAKING USA, are STAGED, then you are a closed minded IDIOT.

There MAY be 1 or 2 town hall meetings that have been INFLUENCED by groups like this, AND by people who are FOR the bill as well, but the VAST MAJORITY of people in this country, excluding yourself, have enough common sense to see the dire ramifications of this deadly bill. My point is, Glen Beck was entirely out of line with his racist remark. Of course, he has every right to disagree with policies and offer cogent arguments to support his views. But, where he and many others have gone overboard is labeling Obama racist, comparing him and his policies to Nazism, and scaring the people with the threat of socialism - as if a national health care program or public option is like some evil entity being perpetrated by totalitarian governments upon innocent victims. Also, the current financial debacle is a result of years of poor judgment and greed gone wild of prior administrations. I am not letting Democrats off the hook here - they are in the pockets of corps and special interests too!

Ralph, what exactly do you think is holding up the price of oil? It's definitely not demand and, don't tell me speculation because that'a only a small fraction of the problem (which works on a pendulum). The price of oil is so high because of a weak dollar. That's a fact.

I think that next year is when we'll all be fighting back and forth over whose fault the inflation is. You can't run this large of a deficit and flood the market with dollars to the extent we have without inflation being a serious problem. I just don't believe that the government is going to be in a position to pull enough dollars back in to stave it off. To increase spending at a time like this is supremely irresponsible. We are far from out of the woods on this recession yet.

I think very few Black Americans vote GOP because of an effective campaign by the left to label the GOP as racist. Sort of the same type of campaign the right has done to label the left as communist. Neither is true and, neither is constructive to what matters.

The trashing of Sotomayor was extremely mild compared to what Biden and Kennedy did to Clarence Thomas.

And kartika, I agree that we're in this hole because of prior administrations but, I don't see this administration doing anything to make the situation better, quite the opposite.

The real debate is whether the current proposal for Health Care Reform will decrease spending on health care, whether rationing will happen and whether that rationing is moral. The debate hasn't ended to that effect. I think the American People would do well to dismiss the partisan players and propaganda on BOTH sides and and stick with the facts.

The idea that our elected representatives wanted to push an issue this important through to law in two weeks without allowing open debate is alarming. It makes me wonder what's being hidden from the American People. Why the hurry when the law doesn't take effect until 2013?

As far as oil prices, understanding that is a large part of how I make a living. You're right, long term prices will rise. Over the short term the rise will not be based on demand. We have a growing surplus. Demand is weak. Oil is traded strictly in the dollar globally so, when the value of the dollar falls, oil prices rise. A dollar that is steadily getting weaker is a sure indication of looming inflation. The only way to counteract the effect of flooding the market with new dollars is to pull some of that currency back in. Where are we going to find the money to do that? New bond sales? We're already breaking record after record in Treasury Bond sales. We have to create more dollars just to pay the interest on the bonds we've already sold.

What happens if we have a double dip recession? A lot of economists believe that we're no where near the bottom of the housing crisis.

Okay, here you go! Veterans make up one in four homeless people in the United States, though they are only 11% of the general adult population, according to a report to be released Thursday. About 3.5 million US residents (about 1% of the population), including 1.35 million children, have been homeless for a significant period of time. Over 37,000 homeless individuals (including 16,000 children) stay in shelters in New York every night. This information was gathered by the Urban Institute, but actual numbers might be higher(from the Washington Profile). Tent Cities is metaphorical and meant to cover actual tents, makeshift shelters, such as: blankets hanging over doorways, abandoned buildings, and other challenging living arrangements that are forced upon poor people who cannot afford housing. And, I'm certain you will find at least a few people in New Orleans who are still displaced by Hurricane Katrina, say, an estimated 12,000 homeless accounts for 4% of New Orleans' estimated population of 302,000, according to the homeless advocacy group UNITY of Greater New Orleans. The number is nearly double the pre-Katrina homeless count, the group says.

Can you link to the report for me (says the report is to be released Thursday). I'm curious as to what a "significant period of time is" as well as if this study includes American citizens only. Residents seems a broad term.

I live just a couple hours drive from the U. S./Mexico Border and realize that quite a few people that cross our border illegally are homeless for a significant period of time before they can find work. The majority have family here that can provide them shelter so I don't imagine all would be counted as homeless. BTW our insane border policy would shock you with the amount of death, privation and destruction it creates if you saw it first hand.

The number you quote for veterans is shocking as I wasn't aware of that. I have a feeling though that there is something deeper as to why that is, other than just greedy evil Republicans anyway. Seems the majority of the charity work and legislation supporting veterans is initiated and supported by the Conservative end of the spectrum.

I don't doubt your figures about New Orleans homeless. Yet another glaring example of our government's failure to handle any situation without massive waste and bureaucratic ineptitude. Luckily the private sector and charities stepped in to help or it would be much, much worse. Hopefully our president will spare a little of his time to address that situation.

It does mention predatory lending but as I recall, Barney Frank and others on the left were responsible for forcing banks into making loans to those who couldn't afford them. Seems I heard a story or two about ACORN being involved in that mess. All in the name of fairness right? The results don't matter as long as your intentions were good?

That's unfortunate and those people should be prosecuted. That's not the root cause of the subprime crisis.

You should spend some time investigating the regulatory manipulation by Sen. Dodd and Barney Frank. As well as the pressure put on banks to accept these loans by groups like Acorn which at the time our president was heavily involved with. If you would like I'll provide you with plenty of examples to that effect. Democrats were not completely to blame for this though. I'm wondering where the Republican opposition was to all this was at the time.

I watched the first video and I disagree with Bachman as far as Palin's qualifications for a VP spot. But I also think one term as a senator and a lifetime as a community organizer for president is no better.

I watched the first minute of the second video and I disagree with her point that CO2 doesn't have an effect on global warming. It does, its simply a scientific fact. Unavoidable. The honest debate is to what it extent it does and whether ALL global warming is created by man-made CO2 emissions and how much of that warming is created by our solar cycle.

The most important debate that we can have is whether or not Cap and Trade will have any significant effect on warming. How much will imposing huge tax burdens on taxpayers effect the environment? Will the Democrat Party allow debate on the issue or will they simply steamroll the American People with another legislative cramdown? Is there a better solution that is less destructive to the American economy? An energy tax is yet another regressive tax on the American People. There seems to be a pattern here.

Didn't bother watching the third.

Don't know much about her but, from what I see in the first two videos I would look for another candidate. If I was in her district I would look for somebody that can step outside of talking points and make a coherent argument.

I won't disagree with you in the least as far as ignorant congressmen/women on both sides. I'm not very familiar with Bachman so I can't intelligently go into detail about her. So, I'll have to take your word for it. But, I don't doubt you a bit.

My biggest gripe is that the partisan players on both sides defend these dolts no matter what they do. In a country with 300 million people it seems to me that we can do better than our current and for that matter previous congresses. If we can't we're in a lot more trouble than I thought.

Ralph, I think that if we set aside our partisan differences, which I believe are more grounded in partisan propaganda than fact, we would agree on more issues than you realize.

Neither one of us want to see anybody discriminated against or oppressed. We both see a problem with the level of poverty in a country this wealthy. We both have a problem with the substandard educational system in this country. We both have a problem with power concentrated in one small portion of Americans.

Where we disagree is in our trust in the government to correct these problems.

I don't see the government as any better than a large corporation. Rather the opposite since government has the power of coercion to reach its ends. You don't have to do business with any particular corporation. You don't have any choice when it comes to the government.

But I am telling you, the Liberals VS Conservatives in America is 50/50. So we NEED to work together instead of fighting and trying to do whatever the heck we want while "OUR SIDE" is in office. Bush has certain laws in place that will take YEARS for the Democratic congress to overturn, and when Obama LOSES the next election he will have laws in place to curb the next administration unless it is Democrat. Gleen Beck has better ratings than any of your CNN,MSNBC, reporters, and more than some of them put together. He does go to far sometimes, but he also has some legitimate questions. At least he is practicing journalism. He is getting to the stories and trying to find answers to how this President is working.For the left journalism is dead! It is easy to try to discount every opposer to Obama as a right wing nut-job, but not one hub from you on your understanding of this bill or how it will work and why there is nothing to be afraid of, no stories discounting Fox's points of views or answers for their questions. No review of what Beck refers to as "Czars" in Obama's cabinet,and discounting their being communist or racist (admittingly).Do some journalism and prove something, no one watches these shows on CNN and MSNBC because they have no news to report. Taking a couple of Nazi signs and a very intelligent man displaying his right to bear arms is hardly the majority of the conservative movement. 1)The US Government is CORRUPT.

2)Greedy, RICH politicians in office have been quietly passing legislation for DECADES to ensure their continued "service" in office, but not to serve, but to REAP THE MASSIVE REWARDS AND MONEY they are virtually STEALING from the American people.

3)The Health Care Reform BILL was not written by CONGRESS- but by a PRIVATE organization called the Apollo Alliance. A private organization getting LEGISLATION THAT AFFECTS U.S. LAW PASSED BY CONGRESS? And Congressmen have ADMITTED that they have not read that bill, nor do they wish to, they simply "trust" this "organization" to have the American publics' best interests at heart.

4)We have a current national deficit of OVER $9 TRILLION, with another $4 Trillion projected to be spent in the next 10 years because of legislation the Obama Administration is gearing up to push through into law before Obama's term ends.

You are not seriously WORRIED about these issues?? You do not see the possible outcome if we stand by and do nothing? Can you honestly tell me, that knowing these issues exist, and knowing that Van Jones (for 1 example) was a "special adviser" to the President of the United States, Van Jones who is an ADMITTED COMMUNIST, knowing these things does not "INSTILL A HUGE AMOUNT OF FEAR" in you?

For the record, Van Jones has resigned his position as "green jobs special adviser" to the President. But still the Obama Administration refuses to meet with people like Glenn Beck and comment on all these very harsh, very serious accusations aimed at him and the company he keeps, JIM JONES is currently still on the list of advisers to the president, a man who is CO-FOUNDER of the Weather Underground. Glenn Beck does not call himself a journalist. He has no background in anything but talk-radio, and now, talk-TV. Everything he says is merely opinion, which is worthless on any news program. That is why CNN/HN dumped him. He makes his point by not researching his statements, by not following any code of journalistic ethics and by not worrying about the effects his opinions have on either the nation or the people watching him.

To say he is alone in this would be folly. People on both extremes of our political system do the same thing. FOX does represent the Right and Conservatism, is neither fair nor balanced, and always comes to the same conclusions. In this they are mimicked by MSNBC, which favors the Left.

If you want real news, I'm afraid you have to look very carefully as non-political sources, entities with no axe to grind or no cause to celebrate. PBS comes to mind.

One more thing about FOX: They damned IMUS when he worked for MSNBC. Now they've hired him. Strange, me thinks.

Derrik, government has been corrupt for a very long time. Yet it seems that to some people it was only corrupt under Bush, and to others only under Obama. Even under Reagan, Johnson, Kennedy, Eisenhower, Nixon, Carter, Ford & Bush Sr. it was corrupt. That is why in his wisdom Eisenhower warned us about it. There were many people on the Right who condemned him as a Communist for saying that. Now the Right seems to champion the idea of the government as corrupt.

Some of the closest people to Bush were also corrupt and of dubious political sentiments. You fear that Obama's people are Communist. Others worried that Bush's people were Fascist. Maybe both ideas are right. Maybe we need better candidates to run for these offices.

Maybe we need a way to cleanse the entire system and make it work. But looking back at the history of our nation, the government, meaning those we elect, never worked very well. Why should we expect it to now?

This is a President who said if you want to know me look at who is around me. And again how do we pay for these agendas? How does it work (health care)? I have no problem with calling any story "news". I only have a problem when the details of the story are selective, exaggerated or taken out of context. Beck, Limbaugh and Coulter do all those things on a regular basis to create controversy -- which in turn boosts ratings. That's their shtick. Certainly there are some on the left who do it too. But IMO Beck, Limbaugh and Coulter are the worst offenders. Not because they're conservatives/on the right. I feel they're the worst offenders because they knowingly and intentionally stir up so much hate (especially Coulter) and fear (especially Beck and Limbaugh). Those are the two most dangerous human emotions to toy with -- and yet they exploit them without any apparent shame.

Look at how quickly and deeply the country divides in anger because of what those three "entertainers" say. (I don't care what they call themselves; "entertainers" is the best I can do for them.) Nothing that Obama, Bush, Nader, Paul, you and I put together could result in the panicky, dangerous over-reactions that are the staple results of Beck's, Limbaugh's and Coulter's yammerings.

I don't have any problem with FOX News being very conservative. That's fine. I only take issue with them calling themselves "fair and balanced" when they obviously aren't. It's an insult to the viewers' intelligence to make that claim. I mean even many conservatives themselves acknowledge that the station leans heavily to the right.

As for FOX interviewing both people on both sides of an issue, yes, they do. Albeit they pick their interviewees with care. But so do CNN, CNBC, NPR, MSNBC, etc.

I don't think THE FACTS you listed are quite as cut and dried as you presented, but it's not worth nitpicking the differences. That said, sure, I'm concerned about those things. People on BOTH sides are. All I ask is that discussions about those issues not be presented in such a way as to make it seem as if only liberals are to blame for them. Corruption and greed are plentiful on both sides, and the health care system is a concern for both sides. The deficit/debt issues started long before Obama took office yet that FACT seems to be totally ignored or minimized. Getting out of the mess the country is in is going to cost money; lots and lots of it. There's no way around it. But screaming and yelling about it in a manner that makes everything seem hopeless and dangerous -- which is exactly what Beck and Limbaugh do for ratings purposes -- only makes it more difficult for the country to work TOGETHER to solve the problems.

It would take too much time and space here to fully explore and re-re-re-rehash the histories of Van Jones, Jim Jones and Willian Ayers so let me just say that NO I'm not afraid of them. There's no indication they're secretly plotting to take over the country. (Then presumably the world, solar system, galaxy and universe, I guess.) So unless and until they're found to be doing something criminal or threatening NOW, in 2009, I refuse to join the paranoids on the extreme right in their Doomsday scenarios.

If people or things in a person's past are enough to scare and worry the rightwing extremists to death, where was their screaming and hollering and fear when Bush was president?

The Bush family has been tied to the bin Ladens for decades. And Bush's grandfather has a connection to -- brace yourself -- HITLER! Ergo, they all must be terrorists and/or crazed Nazis, right?

In fact, the bin Ladens were actually visiting over at George and Laura's ON 9/11/2001. And Dubya arranged for them to be flown out of the country BEFORE he even addressed the twin towers disaster. Those are FACTS that are well documented.

So according to right-extremist rationale, speculation and guilt-by-association it means Bush and his entire family are terrorists. And they MUST have been part of the 9/11 plan too, right? My God, Bush is practically Osama bin Laden's brother, no? So why wasn't he arrested and executed by now? And why were he and his poppa ever allowed in the White House in the first place?

And why wasn't there a single peep or the least bit of concern coming from Beck, Limbaugh, Coulter or FOX News about any of that?

EGADS! That can only mean Beck, Limbaugh and Coulter are TERRORISTS TOO. (Actually, that description does fit them, IMO.)

And what about CNAP? We haven't even touched on that and the direct connections to Rove, Cheney and Rumsfeld. Where's the rightwing outrage and fear over that world domination saga? Talk about your big government.

My point is simply that so much of the outrageous "entertainment" by people like Beck, Limbaugh and Coulter is based on that kind of selective, illogical and misleading information. And that's what they use to instill such strong hatred and fear and mega-paranoia in "fans" who take whatever those three say as the complete gospel truth.

And that's what I find really scary.

If what you are saying is true, maybe you should reevaluate your liberal stance since it is obvious that government is corrupt from top to bottom. Bigger government = bigger corruption. I think it's reasonable to ask for reliable evidence on a comment like that. As I've said repetitively, I'm no Republican. If it's true it's true. I wont argue against fact.

But, proving a Republican is stupid does not mean that all Democrats are right when it comes to enlarging the American Government which is loaded with corruption and ineptitude on both sides. If they are so evil, why do you people work so hard at giving them more power? It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

BTW, I don't need to reevaluate my "liberal stance". That's based on the ideas and principles I agree with. It's not tied to a person. And the size of government doesn't automatically determine how corrupt it is, though I understand your point. The thing is, one person can be more corrupt than 10,000 other people put together. You have to examine each scenario separately.

My point is just that neither side is free from corruption. So if Beck and Limbaugh want to scare their listeners to death and whip them into hate-filled frenzies by making hollow mountains out of abandoned molehills, why don't they rail about Republican conservative "terrorists"?

I guess my opinion of large government is based on statistics and not political affiliation. If one in ten bureaucrats are corrupt then, there are less corrupt bureaucrats in a group of ten than a group of 1000.

I have no illusions that Republicans are less corrupt than Dems. I imagine its about the same. That's why I prefer free market solutions instead of just giving up and granting power to these guys.

As far as evidence: Bush hanging out with the Bin Ladens for one. Was this on Alex Jones's website or is there a reliable source? That's worth investigation if there is and a possible prosecution. I was completely unaware of it. I think Bush was more dangerous to our country than Obama in a lot of ways. I just refuse to believe accusations like that without some sort of factual foundation. I'd be a fool if I did.

This Van Jones thing is different though. The man was part of the Obama Administration. Isn't it the media's responsibility to point out things like that? The man was an avowed communist. That's a defunct ideology if I've ever seen one. After the collapse of the USSR and the information that was made public afterwords how can anybody argue that point?

Ralph beat me to the Bush-Bin Ladens connection so I won't post anything else about that unless you want me to. But I will say there's a whole lot more to the story -- and it's not good news -- than what's in just that one article and there are plenty of credible sources. There's an excellent book titled "The Cell" that I think you'd be fascinated with. It's about Osama, 9/11 and what the Islamic terrorists really want -- in their own words. (No, it's not the takeover of the US.)

You might also check into Prescott Bush and his financial connection to the Nazi party along with how the Bush family gained wealth and power. Fascinating! You didn't mention wanting evidence of that so I'm assuming you already knew something about it.

My problem with you looking at corruption statistically is that there's no valid premise to begin with. That is, you can't say if 10% on the left are corrupt, 10% of the right must also be corrupt. Those on the right may be 100% corrupt or 100% uncorrupted. Every government, regardless of size or party, has to be examined separately.

IMO, big business is extremely corrupt and it's the single biggest force behind any government. Which reminds me. Do you know about the Bush connection to Goldman Sachs?

You should lighten up yourself. Not all Christians preach hate. You just choose to focus on the ones that do. I know everybody is taught to pigeonhole people into groups and stereotype them with wild labels marketed by their political affiliations for political expediency. I try to stick to the actions of the individual. Maybe that's why I choose to be Libertarian.

Both sides are trying to impose their will on each other. I say back off and keep your agendas to yourselves. You're not a Christian, that's fine, that's your business. I completely agree about looking at the actions of individuals, which is precisely why I made the point earlier about evaluating everyone/everything in government separately. That's one reason I'm registered as an Independent. And that's definitely why I oppose declaring a party when registering! Grr.

I've voted for Republicans, Democrats and smaller political party candidates too. I even cast a write-in ballot once. (I lost.) My votes are always based solely on the individual. I wish that were true of everyone but we all know SOME people vote strictly along party lines. That's ridiculous, IMO. It's exactly the kind of thing that helps keep political stereotypes alive and feeds the hate between them.

That said, I willingly admit my beliefs and values most often -- but not always -- agree with a liberal point of view. That's just the way I roll. :)

I get a little bent when it appears to me that somebody is completely blinded to the ridiculous partisanship that is springing up on both sides.

I don't think that there is anything at all wrong with agreeing with a Liberal point of view on most issues. Although I find myself disagreeing when it comes to government intervention into people's private or business lives.

The whole labeling each other communist, racist, fascist, stupid, etc., is getting us nowhere.

As far as corruption goes, I don't believe that government or big business is leading the race. In my opinion they are equally corrupt. The difference to me is that government is larger and has the power of coercion. Legislation should be designed to protect and promote small business. Both parties push regulation that stifles small business and favors large. They just support different corporate interests.

The whole Republican/Democrat debate is like identical twins arguing about which one is the ugliest.

I live in a right to work state so I'm fairly ignorant as to how unions and businesses actually work together elsewhere. I'd be interested in a Hub on what's really going on. The political right paints the Unions as absolute evil and the political left paints the corporations as absolute evil. I imagine its somewhere in between the two and I don't have the background to filter the BS. It's rare that you hear anybody speak about it without a severely biased opinion.

I know this is a hub about Glenn Beck so I wont spend any more time on it.

First- you are right, the county's deficit issues started long ago. BUT- you are ignoring the point- to date The Obama Administration has SPENT over $1.75 TRILLION!!! And now Glenn Beck has problems with math. Official estimates for his 9-12 march were up to about 75,000, a rather impressive turnout, but Beck claims 1.7 million. Where did they sleep? Where did the park? were there increased numbers on mass transit? No, there were not. Did they suddenly just materialize inside of Washington without leaving any trace of how they got there, where they ate and where they slept? No reports of such massive crowds reflected in hotel/motel counts, restaurants, business, etc., and neither did the pictures used depict the real crowd, because someone faked the huge crowd photo used on some blogs.

It turned out to be a doctored phot, at least 8 years old since newer buildings built in the background were missing, and only the people up front were real 9-12 marchers.

A respectable turnout, indeed, but why inflate the numbers to 1.7 million when it can so easily be determined that this was false?

I see Fox & Friends said 500,000, but even that can't be substantiated by any credible source.

I'm afraid 75,000 will be highest official count.

Mr. Beck, why weren't you even there? It was, after all, your march??????

There is no official count. The Park Service stopped that in 1996.

Your 75k number is no more supportable than a 1.7 mil number. Wanting your number to be the official count doesn't make it so. Just like wanting it to be 1.7 mil doesn't make it so.

The only numbers that really matter are the ones counted in 2010 anyway.

Beck it seems is in need of a solid math course, starting with addition, not multiplication. Reports over here in Spain say Washington officials recorded about 100,000 total. Were the Washington officials lying?

If the Washington park service stopped counting in 1996, then why have they made counts since then? Or was that some other agency, such as the police or fire department? Someone reported these numbers.
