The ads at the top of the page add to the distress:
Find Foreclosure homes. Your dream home as low as $10,000.
How are the taxpayers going to make back $800 billion at that rate?

First of all, great hub! it hits home for me!
When we bought our house in July, 2006, it was underpriced according to the local market. In the two years since then it has dropped well below what we paid for it.
Now that I am unemployed, and disabled, I believe we will end up losing all that we have worked for the past 30 years.
What a country!
