Squirrels and Bird Feeders

Squirrels are hard to keep out of bird feeders. As a result, our back yard is populated by lots of fat squirrels.

That's a good camera, the color is rich and true. The squirrels remind me of the Bush Administration with the birdfood representing our civil liberties!

Cute pics...however, i have a fox squirrel, he is far from fat...but he is very spoiled, all he will eat is chicken nuggets and fish sticks! weird huh??

Great pictures. I also have a Fat ass that I feed. Also, I have a Squirrel that lost most of her tail, and she will come when called (Stumpy). She is also very spoiled.

I have been on a lot of sites about squirrels, and this is the first one that does'nt have any thing bad to say about them. Its nice to know some people still care about the little guys. You can't help but to like them.Don't get me wrong I've squirreled hunted for 25 years, but now I have roscow, I think I'm going to stop. She's a great companion more than I could have asked for.

Thanks for the comment. I like squirrells, too. And I too hunted and ate squirrels as a kid growing up in Louisiana.

i love squirrels and the person before me i got something to say to you. If you love squirrels why would you eat them?

Especially in the South, lots of people hunt and eat squirrels. I don't shoot the ones in my back yard. The last time I hunted squirrels was 50-some years ago. I don't think I could bring myself to shoot a squirrel any longer. Now I just shoot pictures of them.

I used to put jars of peanut butter for my squirrels, they got to fat and couldnt escape predators to good. My cat left me one as a gift outside my door with its head eaten off. He was pretty fresh, thought about cooking it up but didnt, my dad says corn fed squirrels tast the best. I wouldnt kill a squirrel, I love them to much. Raised many an orphaned squirrel in my day, pure love

Nice pictures! Our UK grey squirrels are just as fat! They are all over the garden at present. The North American grey squirrels have relegated our native, dainty red squirrels to living only on off shore islands.

Good to hear from you Rik. You haven't been seen in Detroit for several years! I'll buy you a few fire-brewed Stroh's beers next time you're here.
