Thanks for the comment. I have a lot to learn. Maybe I need to reduce the resolution more before uploading the pictures.
I've never been to a regatta but I have heard how fun they are. These are some great pictures from the event. How long do boat races usually last? I would love to come out and see one. Oh, and I saw the site just fine. No problems loading pictures on the first try.
Thanks for your comment. Most regattas take place on one or two days and consist of two or three short races each day winds permitting. Others are longer distance races. On Lake St. Clair the longest race is the BYC North Channel Race which is 54 nautical miles. It starts around an early October Saturday at 8 am and usually finishes in the early evening if there is a good wind. Years ago when boats were heavier and slower the race didn't finish until some time on Sunday. If you want to sail try hanging around the dock a couple of hours before the race and pass the word that you're available as a crew. Often there are last minute crew spots available.
